A Magical Journey

I was approached by local jewelry designer Vania to help create a brand film for the launch of her new collection ‘Magic Trip’. She wanted to create a magical world of whimsy that highlighted various new pieces.

The moodboard we referenced was full of lush vegetation, sparkling crystals and otherworldly light. It was decided that in order to feature the as many pieces as possible and cut down on budget we would create various vignettes for each item, something we could expand on if we found more time and budget.

From there I create the 3D versions of all the pieces we would need . The small gold charms and translucent beads presented a fun challenge with various back and forths with the designer.

Then we moved into animation. Because the vignettes were going to be quite simple and meditative I wanted to make sure they had a real depth of vegetation and to feel like we were getting a glimpse into a fairy like world.

The final piece was a great example of a tight concept and budget resulting in a fun, unique brand film that was one of my favourite pieces of recent times.
